Daily Devotional Readings

Take some time each day, to read your Bible and to pray.
With others or alone, remove distractions like your phone,
Read God’s word and pray to Him too,
To keep your faith strong until God makes all things new.
Reading and prayer is like eating a meal, it's often mundane and not a big deal.
But if you stop eating you soon will find out,

What often seems boring we cannot go without.

Discovery Bible Study

REVIEW: What did I read last and what has God been teaching me?

READ: Read through the passage x2, and then retell it in your own words.

REFLECT & DISCUSS: (Your passage may not have an answer to all of these questions.)

  1. What does this passage tell me about people?

  2. What does this passage tell me about God?

  3. What is God calling me to repent of? (What should I stop and what should I do instead?)

  4. What promise is God calling me to believe? (What should I meditate on?)

REJOICE, REPENT & REQUEST IN PRAYER:

Adoration     - Praise God for who he is. (“We praise you God, for you are mighty”)

Confession     - Confess your sin, as specific as possible. (“God forgive me for…) Thanksgiving    - Thank God for all that he has given you. (“Thank you God for…”)

Supplication    - Ask God for his help with the challenges of life. (“God, please help…”)

(If you’re doing this study with a group, ask the person on your right how you can pray for them and pray aloud for them.)

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
